Shuttle Service Returns With New Schedule
For the spring semester, the Campus Shuttle service between the Des Plaines and Skokie campuses will operate under a new schedule.
The shuttle departs from Skokie’s main entrance three times daily, at 8:15 and 11:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and from the Des Plaines campus Circle Drive entrance, twice a day, at 12:30 and 3:45 p.m.
Tickets are $1 each way and may be purchased at the Oakton bookstores. Ridership is limited to six passengers on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The service is part of the “Green College” initiative to offer “ecologically sound practices.” Each gallon of gasoline saved through the use of the Shuttle prevents 20 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere.
Funding for the Campus Shuttle is provided by the College and the Student Government Association.
